Since our formation in 1990, Kenneth D. Shin and its affiliates have endeavored off to developing distressed areas throughout New York City to improve the community needs and necessities. A prominent developer / entrepreneur in the Korean community, began his success by acquiring vacant properties in concerned areas and creating shopping strip malls, Laundromats, and mixed use retail commercial buildings. His rapid success rooted a boom in shopping strip mall / Laundromat business in the local communities throughout the tri- boroughs.
A few years later in 1999, after several years of successful developing in the private sector, Kenneth D. Shin decided to embark into public construction works. He created K.D.S. Developers, Inc with the mindset of continuing the same excellence that he accomplished in the private sector. Using his resources, he expanded his horizon by being certified as a Minority Business Enterprise and Locally-based Business Enterprise in New York City and New York State agencies. Successfully winning multiple bids from the N.Y.C Dept of Education / School Construction Authority to renovate many old outdated NYC school facilities under the M.W.B.E mentor protege program. By 2011, we have completed all projects on time and within budget working with some of the largest New York C.M. Firms such as Lend Lease, S.T.V , T.D.X Construction, Skanska, Bradford and etc. Thereby gaining a tremendous experience and recognition in the field working with the various governmental agencies in the public sector.
